Sulfametrole is a sulfonamide obtained by formal condensation of the sulfo group of 4-aminobenzenesulfonic acid with the amino group of 4-methoxy-1,2,5-thiadiazol-3-amine. It is an aromatic ether, a member of thiadiazoles, a substituted aniline and a sulfonamide antibiotic. It derives from a hydride of a 1,2,5-thiadiazole.
