Difenpiramide is a monocarboxylic acid amide obtained by formal condensation of the carboxy group from biphenyl-4-ylacetic acid with the amino group of 2-aminopyridine. Used for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It has a role as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, a non-narcotic analgesic and an antipyretic. It is a member of biphenyls, a member of pyridines and a monocarboxylic acid amide. It is functionally related to a biphenyl-4-ylacetic acid.
