IDENTIFICATION AND USE: Ammonium hypophosphite is a solid, forming crystals or white granules. This is a DEA List 1 chemical substance. It is used as a catalyst in nylon manufacture. Up to 1% of ammonium hypophosphite is added as a stabilizer in ammonium iodide preparations. HUMAN STUDIES: Large doses of ammonium salts may have sufficient absorption to produce diuresis and systemic ammonia poisoning, particularly if given parenterally. ANIMAL STUDIES: There are no data available.
