While it is not known whether nelfinavir is distributed into human milk, the drug is distributed into milk in rats.

Concurrent administration /of oral contraceptives such as: ethinyl estradiol or norethindrone/ with nelfinavir causes a decrease in the plasma concentrations of these medications; alternate or additional contraceptive measures should be used.

/GENOTOXICITY/ No chromosome aberrations were detected in human lymphocyte assays.

Summary: - AZT, 3TC, and NFV - Under the conditions of this transplacental exposure study, there was no evidence of carcinogenic activity of mixtures of AZT, 3TC, and NFV in male or female B6C3F1 mice whose dams were exposed to 80/40/336, 160/80/672, or 240/120/1,008 mg/kg by gavage.

/LABORATORY ANIMALS: Developmental or Reproductive Toxicity/ There was no evidence that nelfinavir affected fertility, mating, or embryo survival in female rats or mating in male rats when the drug was given at doses providing exposure levels calculated to be equivalent to those provided by the recommended human dose.
