Biotin functionalized polyethylene glycol (PEG-Biotin) is an avidin or streptavidin binding PEG derivative that is used to biotinylate biomolecules or other material surfaces. Biotin can be easily detected by biotin/streptavidin binding assay and is widely used for molecule target detection. Biotin PEG NH2 can be used to modify other molecules or surfaces via its reactive primary amine group. Primary amine reacts readily with NHS ester, carboxylic acids and many other functional groups.
