Omiganan is a cationic antimicrobial peptide. Omiganan as an analogue of indolicidin shows activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria but also Candida spp. isolates. Omiganan can be used for the research of alcohol nose and acne. In Vivo Omiganan results in a statistically significantly reduction in bacterial counts. omiganan reduces the bacterial counts by 3.8 (S. aureus), 2.2 (S. epidermidis) and 2.3 (C. albicans) log 10 CFU/site. Omiganan has rapid bactericidal and fungicidal properties and significant dose-dependent activity against a broad spectrum of infected organisms.
